Pizza Express All Aboard the Pizza Express

We managed the launch of Pizza Express's two new Belfast restaurants. This involved consumer PR, media relations, influencer engagement, and blogger relations.

When we were approached by Pizza Express to help them launch their two new restaurants in Belfast, we were delighted to be a pizza the action!

The brief

We were briefed that while our main message was that two new restaurants were opening, Pizza Express wanted to solidify their commitment to expanding in Northern Ireland, and that consumers now have five fantastic restaurants to choose from.

Zoe Bowley, originally from Northern Ireland and Operations Director for Pizza Express, visited Northern Ireland and exclusively talked about the company’s investment in creating more outlets, jobs and choice for our wee country.

Media preview

As well as announcing the openings and investment through media and influencer relations, we were tasked with creating an exclusive media preview event to showcase the new restaurants ahead of them opening to the public.

With two venues to visit in one night, there was only one thing for it: ‘The Pizza Express’.

We commissioned a luxury coach and ceremoniously declared it The Pizza Express. We invited our select guests made up of journalists, bloggers and influencers to meet at Pizza Express Bedford Street, which celebrates its 20^th birthday this year. They enjoyed Prosecco cocktails and an abundance of appetisers, before hopping on The Pizza Express for a first look at the Ballyhackamore outlet on the Upper Newtownards Road.

This is where the main action happened, with dough tossing competitions and a chance to sample every pizza, salad, pasta and risotto on the menu! With full bellies, it was back on board The Pizza Express to our final destination; St. Anne’s Square.

Dessert paradise awaited us, with samples ranging from salted caramel profiteroles, lemon posset and firm favourite, tiramisu. Our guests relaxed with a glass of wine and enjoyed the sounds of the Ulster Youth Orchestra for the remainder of the evening.

We loved creating the perfect launch for the new Pizza Express restaurants here in Belfast, and we’re delighted that one of them is opening just around the corner from us! Expect us to be on the Pizza Express regularly…
